OUR DESIGN CONCEPT
Discover hidden surprises in every corner of our design hotel, where the fabled story of Hong Kong’s glorious Moon Festival is told through custom furniture, elaborate lanterns and a marriage of East and West like you’ve never seen before. This isn’t just a hotel, it’s an experience.
Under the keen direction of Wanders & yoo, the interior design of Mira Moon hotel tells the tale of an adored Hong Kong legend, with a contemporary twist. Modern furnishings covered in antique Chinese fabrics and prints stand aside tailored carpets and bespoke mosaic walls custom-designed for each room. The fairytale’s iconic personas are represented in carefully-chosen, elaborate elements that have been weaved into the architecture. Allow your imagination to be captivated as you meander through our halls and experience this ancient love story at Mira Moon hotel.
Wanders & yoo is a global creative partnership. A dynamic collaboration combining the vision of the leading light of the contemporary design scene, Marcel Wanders, with the globally lauded yoo Studio. Wanders & yoo is brought to you by the house of yoo, the design and lifestyle company founded by property entrepreneur John Hitchcox and the eponymous designer, Philippe Starck in 1999.

OUR BRAND STORY
A long, long time ago, before there was lipstick and liquor, 10 suns circled the Earth making it a dreadful place to live and far too hot.
One day a hero named Hou-Yi decided to save the world. He shot down nine of the suns, much to the relief of his fellow earthlings, making the Earth a much more pleasant place to live. For his bravery he was awarded with an Elixir of Immortality.
Hou-Yi was married to Chang-Er, whom he loved very much. So much so, he decided to give her the Elixir of Immortality so she could live forever.
After drinking the Elixir, Chang-Er discovered she could fly! For fun she flew to the moon, but little did she know that she was unable to return to Earth to be with her husband.
Dismayed by this turn of events and concerned for her husband, she decided to send her magical companion, the Jade Rabbit, to Earth and keep him company in her absence whilst she remained on the moon as the Moon Goddess of Immortality.
The Jade Rabbit and Hou-Yi became good friends and made a home in one of the Causeway Bay towers. They still live there to this day and Chang’Er watches over them safe in the knowledge they are living a carefree, fun existence.

Mira Moon is proud to support locally and globally recognised programs intended at raising awareness of the need of environmental protection as well as introduce energy-saving and sustainable solutions to reduce its own carbon footprint such as:

– Use of plastic-free single-use hotel toiletries and refillable bath amenities

We also pay attention to animal welfare and your well-being when selecting our suppliers. Thus we have introduced dishes prepared with cage-free eggs at on our breakfast sets, whilst Mira Hotel Collection has committed to using 100% cage-free eggs entirely by 2025.

SAYING NO TO SINGLE-USE PLASTIC
As part of our commitment to minimizing plastic pollution and single-use waste, and in accordance with the regulations set by the HKSAR Government Regulation on Single-Use Disposable Plastic, starting from 22 April 2024 Mira Moon will offer only plastic-free single-use toiletries and refillable bath amenities.
To actively participate in reducing plastic waste, we encourage all our Guests to travel with their own shaving razors and toothbrushes. By bringing your own personal care items, you can contribute to our efforts in reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainability.
